INTRODUCTION
This special issue is the result of the 2023 call for papers of the Computers Privacy and Data Protection conference Latin America (CPDP LatAm). The conference took place with the overarching theme ‘Protection of Data, Cooperation and innovation within Latin America’, and this broad theme frames the discussion of this Special Issue.
