INTRODUCTION
On the 28 of September 2022 the European Commission presented its long-awaited proposal for a new product liability directive. Starting point of this process was the evaluation of the directive in 2018, showing that the directive was not fully meeting its original goals and illustrating its unfitness in light of the digital age and circular economy. Parallel to these developments, a call was made for a strong civil liability framework regarding AI.
